Nina recently finished a book entitled Generation In, which profiles 55 inspiring and innovative teenage entrepreneurs from 22 countries. The book is slated for release in bookshops worldwide -- date to be announced!
Nina currently works with Lifestyler, a luxury travel magazine out of Canada with a distribution of over 100,000.

Nina's exposé on possible poisonings on Phi Phi island for C-Holiday magazine (see below) was picked up by Deborah Blum, a blogger for Wired who wrote a tear-jerking story about what seems to be a fatal trend in the region. Her story, which was published November 2012, featured Nina's reporting. Read the article, entitled Your Daughter Died, here.


From 2010-2012, Nina was a copywriter who whipped out witty write-ups for's daily deals. She covered markets mostly in the western US and Canada.

Nina was a staff writer on the general news desk for The Tibet Post International, an online newspaper that covers Tibetan issues, particularly Tibetan refugee issues. The trilingual publication is headquartered in McLeod Ganj, India. A few noteworthy news pieces include:

Nina acted as editor-in-chief of Contact magazine, a grassroots publication out of McLeod Ganj, India, that's works for the Tibetan freedom movement. For the monthly magazine, Nina wrote a number of political features. She also copyedited all incoming work from the number of local and volunteer journalists that she managed and trained. Nina also worked with local photographers and designers on layout for the hardcopy publication. Contact magazine works in conjunction with LHA Charitable Trust, an exemplary volunteer organization and cultural exchange that doubles as the publication's publishing house. 

In 2009-2010, Nina was Time Out Singapore's travel editor. Besides the travel section, Nina also wrote features and listings for a number of other sections, including Around Town, Art, Film, Music, Shopping & Beauty, Sports, and The Rojak. Some of her features include:

C-Holiday magazine was a luxury lifestyle publication geared towards expatriates living in Thailand. In 2009, Nina wrote a number of articles for C-Holiday, including:
  • Thai-ing the Knot, an article about the Thai wedding tradition sin sod;
  • Bird's Nest Soup; and
  • an in-depth exposé entitled Phi Phi Problems, which delved into heartbreaking stories on possible poisonings and suspicious gang activities on Koh Phi Phi, a popular tourist destination.

From Ink Publishing's Singapore headquarters, Nina wrote as a travel and business writer for a number of their in-flight magazines, including Tiger Tales, Fah Thai, and CONNECT business magazine. In 2009-10, her work included features of the Angkor Butterfly Center in Cambodia; Q&A interviews with Southeast Asian restauranteurs; international event listings; and reviews of the year's best festivals to the year's most innovative underwater watches.
